After finishing our neighborhood outreach for Faith Fest 2012 yesterday I was beyond encouraged! My total focus was on our community and reaching out to get them to our local church. There were only a few of us but we were all committed to the cause and because of that I believe our efforts will be blessed and we will begin to see results!
It's so easy to get our priorities out of balance and forget the mission. We often go through the motions every church service and it becomes routine. Never forget why we are here! Always put God first after all He is the one we aim to please! It's not about the music, outlines, schedules and perfection! It's about reaching people and showing them the one true living God. I am so tired of the same routine and I personally want to take time to reach the lost and dying world!
I have a refueled passion and enthusiasm for outreach and in my opinion next to the preached word of God it is the most important area of the church. What is the church if we aren't seeing new faces? If you are not on board and a part of outreach in your church then you need to be. Make sure you are a part of church growth!! I believe it will take the entire church working together as God's army to effectively reach the world! Everyday we are on the battlefield fighting for the Lord. If all you do to connect with someone is smile and say "have a nice day", that could change their entire day!
Take the time to care about people otherwise your work is in vain. If we are closed off and preoccupied when it's time to greet visitors and interact with fellow saints how can we expect them to respond to our leading? We have to allow God to flow through us in every area, not just those we are naturally gifted in.
I am so shamefully at fault for being "just too busy" to talk or slow down and observe what others are going through! If you view yourself as a leader of any sort you should be people minded! We can not survive without each other and in order to connect with fellow members in Christ we must be approachable and we must support each other!
I was so blessed to play a small part of planting seed which is a small stroke on the canvas of the bigger picture!
